Conversations not Conflicts

Using logical fallacies, character attacks, and other violent forms of communication have been part of the political landscape for a long time. With our media so laser focused on politics these insidious devices have made their way into our regular conversations, both online and in person. Conversations quickly turn into arguments and logical fallacies throw those arguments off the rails. This hurts our ability to connect with people we disagree with and those we love. This morning we will talk about some ways to lower the temperature of our conversations to leave space for compassion and deeper understanding.
