Project Phoenix Update
February 14, 2019

Many thanks to all who attended last Sunday’s presentation by our Project Phoenix
partners detailing how our new home is being designed and built. 50 questions were
submitted, many of which were answered at the meeting. We are currently compiling all
the questions and responding to them. The Q&A resulting from the meeting will be
posted by February 28th . Click on the links to views the video and presentation from last Sunday. 

Our second open house will be this coming Sunday, Feb 17th from 1:30 – 3pm at 2650 N
Druid Hills Rd NE. Tours of the building will be led by members of the Design Team.
Leaders of the Project Phoenix Steering Team will present and discuss:

  • Comparison posters of the 5 options for UUCA’s new home.
  • A chart detailing each option timeline
  •  The binders containing all documents about the purchase, due diligence reports,
    design and development and preconstruction estimates of our new home

Straw poll voting for the various options begins that day at the open house. Everybody
will be given an opportunity to place one dot next to one of the 5 Options to vote their
preference. There is no requirement that you make that decision on the first day or week
of the voting. The posters will be available at UUCA through March 24th . There will be
more information and activities forthcoming during the time that the straw poll is being
taken that will help inform our way forward:

  • Two Listening Sessions, detailed below
  •  Information about the activities of the Financial Consultant Search Team
  • Binders containing all documents about the purchase, due diligence reports,
    design and development and preconstruction estimates of our new home will be
    available for review in the Project Phoenix office Monday through Thursday,
    during UUCA business hours. Sunday access will start February 24 th . Due to the
    highly confidential nature of the items enclosed in the binders, please see either
    Travis or Gary to sign in for access.
  • Project Phoenix leaders DeAnn Peterson (dpuucaphoenix@gmail.com ) and Dave
    Spierman (dsphoenix@gmail.com) will be available by appointment to meet with
    UUCA organizations to review and answer questions about the options, timelines
    and binders.

Both sessions will be at UUCA (1190 W. Druid Hills Dr.) from 1:30 to 3:00PM in the
Social Hall. Childcare will be available for both sessions.
