Reversing the TideThis season we have once again been awestruck by the power of water. In an extraordinary event, a hurricane reversed the MIssissippi river’s flow. How can we harness the power of water in our lives, to course correct, and reverse the flow of our society’s direction? What does water have to teach us about moving the immovable? Join Rev. Taryn Strauss for this service and our Water Communion. Following service, there will be an in-person, masked Water Communion ceremony at 1190 W. Druid Hills Dr. NE. Bring a small amount of water from a place that is special to you. During this challenging time, remember that places close to home are divine blessings. Water from your tap is as special as water from a faraway sea. Collection is as much a part of the ceremony as the gathering itself. Rev. Taryn Strauss offers this prayer or meditation for your collection process:
We return to the water, seeking replenishment. We come bearing fears, rage, grief, thirsting for nourishment, longing to be reborn in hope. We honor the gift of water's flow, offering refuge, peace, and the energy of our lifeblood. Blessed be the water of life. RSVP to the in-person Water Communion ceremony here.
