PACT is happy to present The Seedling Project production of Henrik Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler April 1-4 and April 7-10. This new adaptation of the classic play, commissioned especially for this production, will be directed by Chris Rushing and feature actors from The Seedling Project ensemble. The play examines the role of women in society through focus on the title character’s attempts to control her own life. A talk-back session will follow each performance. For reservations, email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours in advance.
First performed in New York in 1996, The Vagina Monologues will be
directed by UUCA congregant Jan Jensen, recently retired as Drama Director at Chattahoochee High School in John’s Creek. Auditions for the play, which focuses on experiences of women through a series of monologues, will be announced later.
Carol Welter, also a UUCA congregant, will direct And Then Came Tango, a play based on the story of Roy and Silo, a same sex male pair of chinstrap penguins in the Central Park Zoo, who together hatched and raised a chick named Tango. The work has been performed at the New York Fringe Festival (2014) and has also been at the center of controversy (akin to that around the book And Tango Makes Three) when scheduled for performances in schools in Austin, Texas.
