Things are moving along at our new campus, with plenty of great photo ops this week. The new vestibule looks remarkable as construction crews have started installing the new storefront structure. Even though it is only at the beginning of the installation, the curb appeal from the parking lot elevates the look and helps give things a much newer and modern appearance. It has added so much more natural light from the inside, which spills through into the lobby.

Elsewhere the crews are busy grouting the new tile in all the restrooms and priming the walls. It’s hard to find any visible cinder-block now as the sheet-rock walls wrap up their phase of installation. On the horizon in the week ahead is installing the clear round window glass in the sanctuary, which will fully dry in that space and serve to protect the new stained glass, which is in the fabrication process and will arrive in May.

This Thursday, the main power distribution components (including the infamous breaker) arrived onsite. The electricians are already busy getting everything ready to be hooked up to our permanent power. Our schedule is on track, but we continue to face some obstacles with DeKalb county and the inspection and permitting process. Our contractor, architect, and the Project Phoenix team continue to navigate those complexities daily.

Everyone strives toward a completion date of late May / early June. Our lease at the Treehouse will end on June 30th, and at this time, we look good to be moved out by that date and beginning to settle in earnest at our new home.
