EMERGENCE
A poem by Rev. Taryn Strauss
Our plagues became Biblical so let us write our
Bible of Now.
When we speak of cicadas, ancient and alive under there the whole entire time,
We call this emergence.
Crawling out from our fortresses, shells of our former selves maybe
But ready to sing, ready to make some noise on this good green Earth
To remember the cacophony of Being,
To rejoin the choir of life,
Voices shaky, throats scratchy, meandering around the pitch until we claim our note in harmony with all the others
To sing the song of survival and say each in our own way
Here We Are.
