At the strong recommendation of our national UUA leadership, we are switching our worship services to livestream, and will suspend in-person worship services in the sanctuary at UUCA until further notice. At this point in the COVID-19 pandemic, we seek to be a part of the solution of social distancing that is our best defense against the spread of the virus. We believe in public health.
We will continue to livestream our worship each Sunday. This upcoming Sunday March 15, Rev. Taryn will lead worship, Don Milton III will provide music, and we will see a guest sermon from the excellent preacher Rev. Meg Barnhouse called “Finding Gold in the Shadows”. We will have multiple A/V technicians at UUCA to ensure an excellent livestream experience and moderate comments. Our service will begin at 11:00am. Please tune in here.
We need to keep our physical distance, while staying connected to each other and keeping spiritually inspired. We have so many opportunities to connect with one another online and through the phone. We can have story time for kids, an active, moderated Facebook group to share, Wednesday evening vespers online, a pastoral care phone tree, and more. Please stay tuned for a new way to do “church” during this period of social distancing.
If you are ill, please reach out to the Lay Ministry team at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are experiencing an emergency financial need, please reach out to Rev. Taryn at email@example.com .
Nicole Pressley, Director of Communications, will support our programs and groups in hosting online meetings via Zoom phone/video conferencing. If you have experience with Zoom and would like to help other groups with Zoom meetings, please email Nicole.Pressley@uuca.org. We are going to get through this, and we are going to get through it together.
