Project Phoenix Update

Information Sessions
Close to 100 congregants attended Question and Answer sessions on January 28 and January 31 and provided over 75 questions regarding the Still Waters property for the Project Phoenix Team to answer in the upcoming Town Halls to be held prior to the February 25 congregational vote. If you were unable to attend one of the sessions but know of specific information you need in order to make an informed vote, please email projectphoenix@uuca.org. The Town Halls are scheduled as follows:

Town Hall February 11 11:15 am Sanctuary
Town Hall February 14 7:00 pm Room 209/210
Town Hall February 18 12:30 pm Sanctuary
Town Hall February 21 7:00 pm Room 209/210

Slides from the Town Hall presentations will be posted on the Project Phoenix website.

Celebration Team Activities
The Celebration Team continues to conduct interviews for the Story Corps UUCA project and on January 26 interviewed Tom Ventulett, the architect for the 1911 Cliff Valley Way building. The Team has spent some 10 days doing interviews for the projected video that will chronicle congregants’ memories of the building.  The video will serve  as an important historical record of our time on Cliff Valley Way. In addition, there is a Facebook page managed by Nina West where pictures and memories can be posted. Plans are underway for our final Sunday service in the current building, for a closing ceremony, and for our initial Ingathering ceremony at our new location.  If you have ideas for any of these events, share them with the Team by sending to projectphoenix@uuca.org.

Other Activities
As indicated at the Question and Answer sessions, Project Phoenix continues to look for and consider other possible properties and will continue to do so until the Still Waters property closes.  This activity is being conducted on behalf of the congregation, should something prevent the Still Waters closing.
