MORNING SUNSHINEA Parent's Morning Out Program Presented by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of AtlantaContact Alicia Karpick if you have things to donate or would like to enroll your child at akarpick@uuca.org. For more information about Morning Sunshine, please contact Alicia Karpick at morningsatuuca@gmail.com. MISSIONThe mission of the UUCA Parent's Morning Out Program is to provide high quality care to children, ages 6 months to 3 years. We will offer a play-based approach that encourages creativity, exploration and discovery. HOURS OF OPERATION AND DROP-OFF PICK UPThe program has two sessions -- Monday/Wednesday from 9:00 AM-Noon and Tuesday/Thursday from 9:00 AM-Noon. UUCA also offers a free playgroup for parents and their children on Fridays from 10-Noon. Children can be dropped off as early as 8:50am and should be in their classroom no later than 9:10 AM. You should pick up your child between 11:50am-Noon. Children are dropped off and picked up in their classrooms. This gives parents the opportunity to communicate with teachers both before and after school. Parents sign their children in on the form posted in the classroom. If at anytime someone other than a parent is going to pick up your child, please inform your child's teacher AND the Program Coordinator. Teachers may not allow a person other than a guardian to leave with a child. The Program Coordinator must be notified, by the guardian in writing, when someone other than the guardian will pick up the child on that day. The adult picking up a child up from the program must sign out the child on the sign-out form posted in the classroom. DISCIPLINEIt is the philosophy of our program to encourage harmony through direction and encouragement. When problems arise, we will try to redirect the child's energy towards a different activity. If the child is exhibiting further unsafe behavior, we will give them a time in - remove them from the situation and explain what is wrong with the behavior. We will always do this with respect for your child. We strive to have peace in our hearts at all times. By doing this, we create a loving atmosphere which allows the children to feel more confident and comfortable. We want to provide each child with a happy atmosphere where he or she can feel secure. SPECIAL DAYSPlease share with us any significant family events, as we will make a real effort to observe special events in a child's life such as a new sibling, a vacation, or relatives visiting, etc. Our celebrations will be multicultural and we ask families to share their cultural heritage with us. TUITION & FINANCIAL POLICYRegistration FeesA non-refundable registration fee of $100 is due at the time of registration. TuitionTuition is due on the 15th of the month. (Example: Tuition for October will be due on September 15th.) Please make checks payable to UUCA. Monthly tuition is $150 and covers the two-day program from 9am-Noon, morning snack and activities. The first month's tuition is due at registration. Deductions are not made for holidays or absences. We operate on a 10-month basis and tuition is paid accordingly. DAILY ACTIVITIESThe classroom is divided into areas of interest where the children can explore and play with friends or alone.
