Adult Religious Exploration
Adult Religious Exploration (ARE) nurtures the lifelong development of the whole person—body, mind, heart, and spirit—through broad and flexible opportunities for study, exploration, reflection, and spiritual practice. ARE also nurtures the development of a whole community through courses on our relationships, our congregation, our faith movement, and our wider world.

Pre-registration is required for the Short Courses (exceptions are noted in the catalog). Minimum enrollment is 6. For multi-session courses: If less than 6 people register by the first class meeting, the class may be canceled. Drop-ins are welcome at the instructor’s discretion, if space allows. Registration is not required for Ongoing Courses.
Please consult the notice board in the front lobby to find out about meeting locations and any last minute changes. All meeting spaces used for classes are wheelchair accessible. Contact the UUCA office at 404-634-5134 with any questions or concerns about accessibility.
Free infant and toddler care is available without reservation on Sundays during Worship and Religious Exploration Classes. Childcare for infants, toddlers, and elementary school-aged children is available by reservation on Sunday afternoons 1-3 pm, and on Wednesday evenings, 6 to 9:15 pm. Requests for childcare during these times should be made a least a week in advance. All reservations will receive a confirmation email; if you have not received one within three days, contact Michelle Bishop, Children’s Programs Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org. Childcare for other “all congregation” functions and special events may be available, depending on the budget. For more information about childcare availability, contact Michelle Bishop, Children’s Programs Coordinator, at email@example.com.
Adult Religious Exploration offerings are available through your financial support and pledges to the operating budget of UUCA, and therefore most of our courses are offered free of charge. Some programs have a fee for materials, or a small charge for other course-related costs. Limited scholarships are available to UUCA members and friends for whom a course fee creates a financial hardship; please contact Rev. Anthony David Makar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
