UUCA'S UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ENDOWMENT FUND The Unitarian Universalist Endowment Fund (UUEF) is a tax-exempt corporation created in 1970 to provide support to UUCA by providing a vehicle for prudent long-term investment. According to its charter, UUEF's funds must be used exclusively for religious, charitable and educational purposes. The relationship of UUEF to UUCA is similar to that of a trust to its beneficiaries. To fulfill its charitable responsibilities, UUEF has typically contributed a portion of the Fund's annual earnings directly to UUCA projects, but never in amounts which would jeopardize the principal assets of the Fund. During a typical year 2%-3% of Fund's assets are made available to the Board of Trustees of UUCA for specific projects not normally covered in the operating budget. Recently, the Fund made a contribution of $100,000 to the capital drive to renovate the church building. To make a contribution to UUEF, please send a check payable to UUEF to the UUCA office - 1911 Cliff Valley Way, NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30329.

WHERE DOES THE UU EF GET ITS FUNDS? Contributions come to the Fund in the form of cash and property, either directly or as a result of bequests. While UUEF has received contributions from estates and is named in numerous wills, contributions most frequently come in honor or memory of a family member or friend or simply through regular contributions to the Fund.
WHAT IS THE VALUE OF UUEF'S ASSETS? The value of the Endowment Fund's assets exceeded $600,000 as of the FY 2007. Value fluctuates with the market.
HOW ARE UUEF'S MONIES USED? To fulfill its charitable responsibilities, UUEF has typically contributed a portion of the Fund's annual earnings directly to UUCA projects, but never in amounts which would jeopardize the principal assets of the Fund. Recently, UUEF made a contribution of $100,000 to the UUCA capital drive to renovate the church building and provided an additional $30,000 to complete the memorial garden.
HOW ARE UUEF'S ASSETS INVESTED? The policy of the Board is to invest in high quality mutual funds and hold them over long periods rather than engage in a market-timing strategy. A portion of the assets has, from time to time, been used to make moderate interest rate loans to UUCA and to other groups which further the purposes of Unitarian Universalism in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The most recent such loan, to UU Metropolitan Atlanta North (UUMAN) as part of the financing for their present church building, has been repaid. In addition, we are the owners of long term bonds issued by The Mountain which were received as donations.
