Bernette Sherman– A creative individual with a passion for transforming lives through words — whether spoken, written or sung – and through dance. Her book Heaven is Now: Enough Excuses. You ARE Worth Living For! is a collection of essays, talks, meditations, and poetry to encourage living the life you want today. Her poetry book Resist Persist is a timely collection that reminds us to resist that which is untrue to our highest sense of self and persist in that which expands love, peace, and truth for us and world. Carol Welter – Carol grew up in London where she trained
in classical theatre at the Shakespearean Conservatory. She
founded “Wine, Cheese & The Spoken Word” at UUCA and
has directed several plays in the Underground Theatre.
For three nights next March, the Theatre will present an original
play – “About Clarence” — written, produced and directed by Carol.
A preview of “Clarence” will be part of her presentation on Nov. 25,
as well as a sampling of her lighthearted rhymes and more
poignant poetic prose.
Open Mic will be held between sets, providing an opportunity for spoken-word artists to

Doors open 6:45 p.m, warm-up performance starts at 7:00, featured program begins
at 7:30. Suggested donation is $5, but no one will be turned away. Refreshments will
