Chair Yoga and Drawing as Mindfulness Practice
When: Mondays, September 24, October 1, October 8, October 15, October 22
Time: 11 AM to noon
Where: The Treehouse, in the sanctuary
This five week series is an introduction to a gentle yoga practice combined with an introduction to drawing, as mindfulness practice. This series is appropriate for anyone who has been curious about yoga and a gentle way of practicing. All poses will either be sitting in a chair or standing but using the chair for support. No poses that require lying on the floor. And the class will incorporate a different drawing technique each week. If you’ve ever been curious about learning to draw but have been uneasy because you can’t draw a straight line, this class would be for you. Both yoga and drawing are ways to engage in a mindfulness practice. This class is for anyone!
There is a modest materials fee, to cover the cost of art supplies. Please let Nina West know if you’d like to take the class but need assistance with those costs. Cost of supplies will be no more than $35.
