Children
Our goal is to nurture the developing faith and spirituality of children, not to indoctrinate them with one right way of being in the world. Questions are encouraged!
The Tapestry of Faith curriculum workshop for teachers, classroom helpers and parents of preschool through 7th grades has been postponed until Saturday SEPTEMBER 11TH from 9 am-2pm concurrently with other RE Volunteer training (Class Parents, RE Welcome Team and other volunteer positions). We will be joined by UU’s from other area congregations who are using the same curricula this year. Lunch will be provided, please RSVP by Sept 4th by noon. Childcare should be reserved online no later than Sept 4th.
Religious education (RE) classes are offered during each Sunday worship service.
- From May 23 through Labor Day weekend, we have RE classes from 10-11am; on September 12, we resume classes at each service (9:30 and 11:15).
- Children are encouraged to sign up to be chalice lighters for Sunday morning services.
- Newcomers are always welcome. Registration is required for regular participation.
- We encourage the entire community to volunteer in the program.
Other activities include music and arts programs; weekend programs at The Mountain, a Unitarian Universalist camp and conference center in Highlands, NC; and summer camps at UUCA. Families Together is a group for families with children; click here to join the email list.
