UUCA'S HABITAT FOR HUMANITYHabitat for Humanity (H4H) invited UUCA to join in on the 4th Interfaith house building project in downtown Atlanta this Fall. We hope you will join us as a worker volunteer or a financial benefactor. The build dates run every Sunday from October 14 through December 2, skipping the Sunday following Thanksgiving. They begin at 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., breakfast and lunch included. UUCA will host the November 18 build date with breakfast, lunch and homily. Volunteers needed for this effort as well. To sign-up as a worker or food volunteer click on Ernie Guyton or call 678-580-5314. For monetary donations see the instructions below. For more information on the build, and to check worker availability and schedule, please go to the Interfaith Habitat website. UUCA joins hands with other congregations in the Atlanta metro area to participate in an Interfaith Habitat build. This will be our 4th such build collaborating with Jews, Muslims, Baha'i, Protestants and Catholics, all building a house together for a needy family. It's a "hand-up" not "hand out" social work effort with long-term benefits that gives economic security and peace of mind to a whole family for the rest of their lives. Checks can be forwarded by mail to "UUCA, Attn: Social Justice Habitat, 1911 Cliff Valley Way, Atlanta, Ga. 30329" (make checks payable to "Habitat for Humanity," but mark them "UUCA, H4H" in the memo line). |
