SOCIAL JUSTICE

The Social Justice Ministry Team provides the leadership and coordination to support and encourage the members of UUCA to act – individually and collectively - on their passions for justice… within the framework of Unitarian principles.

Some Social Justice committees focus on direct-service community outreach projects to people in need. Others work for changes in the institutions of government and society that perpetuate social injustice.

The Social Justice Ministry Teams invites every member and friend to put their faith into action through active involvement on at least one committee, or to contact Marti Keller about forming a new one.

Being a Force to be Reckoned With: Putting Our Faith in Action in 2008

Do you have a passion for healing the world and working together for human rights, a sustainable environment, social and economic justice? Do you have ideas for bold congregational initiatives and ways of strengthening and deepening our community involvements?

The programs and budget for our social justice work are being developed this spring for 2008, wirth the hopes that the energy and creativity that was evidenced in our appreciative inquiry process will be reflected and fleshed out. What are the programs and partnerships that will make us a force to be reckoned with for liberal religious activism and justice in the wider world?

On Monday evening March 5, beginning at 7:15 p.m. in rooms #209-210, there will be an opportunity to share ideas and receive information on the process for submitting plans and receiving UUCA budget support for the next calendar year. Please contact Rev. Marti Keller at mkeller@uuca.org or 404-634-5134 for further details.
