UUCA'S SPECIAL SERVICES
Our special congregational and holiday services each year include:
Ingathering (September). A service marking the beginning of each new church year with a tradition of “co-mingling” waters collected and brought in from members' travels around the world or around their neighborhoods during the summer.
Thanksgiving Sunday (November). A family oriented service, with the congregation encouraged to bring in offerings of nonperishable foods. (There’s also a potluck Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day coordinated by the Fellowship Council).
Moravian Love Feast (mid December). This special evening holiday service of spectacular music, readings, sharing of food and drink (rolls and coffee) is a feast for the eyes, ears, and spirit.
Christmas Sunday (the Sunday before Christmas). A family service (children included) highlighted with the congregation’s singing of the hallelujah chorus.
Christmas Eve (December 24th). Two services, an intergenerational family service (with children’s pageant) late afternoon, and a candlelighting service in the evening for adults and older children, with traditional carols at both.
Easter Service (March or April).
Flower Communion (May). A celebration of nature and community - everyone brings a flower to Sunday service to place on the “flower altar”, and takes home in return a special flower brought by someone else.
Mother’s Day (May).
Father's Day (June)
