WEDNESDAY COMMUNITY DINNERS (FORMERLY WONDERFUL WEDNESDAYS)

UUCA members, friends, and the surrounding community are welcome at this fun fellowship opportunity. Each Wednesday evening at 6:15 p.m., September through May, a home-cooked meal is offered in our Social Hall, buffet style.The menu varies with the group or person "catering" each week, but usually includes vegetarian alternatives and kid-friendly options. The cost of the meal is currently $6.00 for adults and $3.00 for children 12 and under, with a family maximum of $15.00. Rather than set a minimum age for children, it is suggested that any child who gets a plate will pay. Wine is available at an extra charge. Booster seats and high chairs are available.

Wednesday Community Dinners serves a three-fold purpose:

  • an occasion to come together in mid-week for a meal and a program, which is often of a spiritual or religious nature;
  • a chance to meet in an informal, family-oriented, intergenerational setting with our ministers, lay leaders, and members of the church who wish to get together weekly for discussions;
  • an opportunity for UUCA groups and individuals to raise funds by catering the meal.

Childcare is available from 5:30 pm - 9:15 pm in room 204 (children under 4) and room 206 (children 5th grade and under). Martial arts for children meets from 6:30-7:15 pm; parents should sign children in.

The Wednesday meal is followed by "Midweek Reflection," a vesper service, in the Sanctuary at 6:50, and programs begin at 7:30. We encourage parents to check their children into childcare; children who are not signed into childcare must stay with their parent.

If you wish to offer a meal or to get further information, email Jerolyn Lowry at jerolyn.lowry@comcast.net.
